Class is dismissed!

We've just completed our first session of our jewelry production and design class! How much fun was that!.....We had a great time and the students have gone away with a wealth of knowledge and expertise to build on........ The six week course was timed perfectly so the students would be completed just before Christmas and would have the option of giving handmade jewelry if so desired. A basic beading skill needed to make jewelry was learnt and each person was presented with their own tool kit. With a variety of glass, natural and semi precious beads used each week, the students left with beautiful jewelry that was ready to be worn!

It's amazing to see how the ladies grew in confidence and created different designs from one concept...... Individuals had their own ideas and the classes allowed them to express themselves and be in total creative control..... We enjoyed each other's company and were able to support and make suggestions to each other as a team....

Every week a different project was completed and we're proud of the results. We will be conducting another session of jewelry design and production I in early 2010 and will be continuing on with jewelry design and production II also in early 2010. We will advise as soon as the dates are finalized for the new classes.

We're back. . . . . . . . .

We know it's been too long since you've last heard from us and as you can see we've changed our format! Instead of sending out a newsletter we've decided on blogging....the exciting thing about blogging is that we can share more information and tips with you more often. so as the holiday season is fast approaching we figured what better way to get started than talking about the most exciting time of the year? the holiday season!

As the time changes and the air gets cooler, we begin to feel the excitement of the holiday season which means party's, banquets and balls! Holiday events raise a few questions, color? style? accessories?

Okay so let's help a few folks out (especially those who are fashion challenged)

Now you know we've always been a fan of the "LBD" also known as the little black dress but everywhere you look there is hot pink! can you believe it? for fall?..... HOT PINK? yup, neon colors have made a comeback from the era of the 80's! go figure! Great if you are confident and daring....with a pair of big, bold earrings or a multistrand necklace.

For those who are looking for a more subdued color variation of the "LBD," this season how about trying a "LPD" YUP, you guessed it PURPLE! It is hot this season and is looking more and more fabulous! the darker the fabric, the richer it looks....purple goes great with gold jewelry as they are both are warm color tones....try something simple in gold, a wonderful complement.

We must also recognize the times are changing, and all of these "little dresses" (whether black or purple) are changing with them. We can now see lots of shapes, sleek cutouts and body-hugging silhouettes that bring a very next-century feel, this would be fine for the fashion forward individual....For those who are wondering if i'm crazy, cutouts? body hugging silhouettes? Okay okay we hear you, so how about something classy, sophisticated yet feminine, something that accentuates the waistline, Will that work for you? Get in touch with your sensual side...step out of the box a little.

For the party girl looking for something versatile? How about a strapless dress with fun kicky ruffles? This would be fabulous and its complete with a neckline that is totally accessory ready....the perfect piece of jewelry would be a bold multistrand necklace and/or bracelet or a fussy pair of earrings....

Remember when people wore dresses with one shoulder? well.....they're back! One shoulder dresses have made a massive comeback and will work beautifully for the holiday season seeing that no snow is forecasted for the Bahamas anytime soon. This chic design can be great on many body type and can make one appear taller.

Ruffles, ruffles and more ruffles, here's another trend that is hot and has made a full fashion circle. Ruffles are fabulous but we must say may not be for everyone.....most outfits that have ruffles don't even need much jewelry to accompany it, just a small pair of earrings.

So no matter what the color or the style of the dress, what really matters is your choice of accessories, use much thought when choosing them. Maybe this is the time for you to step out of your comfort zone and wear something you never thought you would....why not? you never know! It may work in your favour.....whatever your style, be who you wanna be!
